A few tips based on our experience.
(i) Get all members of your party to
check the expiry date on their passport, each season we have customers
who have been refused travel because they have not done this. The
Passport should be valid until at least the day of your return to the UK
(ii) Check the website of the airline
that you are travelling with to see their baggage restrictions. These
days they are merciless with their charges for both cabin and hold
baggage that does not comply with the specifications that they stick to.
(iii) Because of more stringent security
there are many things that you cannot put in your hand luggage make sure
that all your party are aware of these as you will be asked to either
dispose of or check in any restricted item. (This means going through
the check in procedure again and often paying a significant fee as the
item may be be classed as an extra bag)

At
the arrival airport
Turin Airport - Italy
We now allow customers 40
minutes at Turin from the scheduled arrival time of their flight until the departure of the transfer. This will allow time for minor delays, your plane to taxi to the stand and for you and your
party to clear immigration and baggage reclaim. If all goes well it
should leave a few minutes for a visit to the cash point or the
toilet and perhaps to have a quick cigarette before leaving the airport
if anyone should wish.
Your driver will meet you at
the latest between 30 and 40 minutes after your scheduled arrival time.
The designated meeting place in Turin is in the Spizzico pizza alcove.
You will find this alcove by turning left as you exit the baggage
reclaim, head past the Autogrill snack bar and the small shop on the left in
the direction of the public toilets. You will find the alcove just
after the little shop on the left. Your driver will meet you there and
will have a white sign with the airporthoppers logo on it. If you are
early this is also a good place to wait.
Note: At Turin it is
not uncommon to be greeted by dogs, some of them look harmless but they
do have an Alsatian on the team, which can look a bit menacing. Don't
worry they are friendly enough they are just looking for illegal
substances so should not bother you.
Journey times: The journey
time from Turin to Sauze d'Oulx is between 1 hour and 1 hour 15 minutes.
The Journey time to Sestriere, Claviere and Montgenèvre is about 20
minutes longer. There are no planned stops on our transfers but feel
free to ask the driver if it is NECESSARY for an unscheduled comfort
stop.
Chambery Airport - Savoie, France
Chambery is a much smaller
airport than Turin, We now allow customers 30 minutes at from the
scheduled arrival time of your flight until the departure of the
transfer. This will allow time for minor delays, your
plane to taxi to the stand and for you and your party to clear
immigration and baggage reclaim. If all goes well it should leave a few
minutes for a visit to the cash point or the toilet or perhaps
have a quick cigarette before leaving the airport.
The designated
meeting place at Chambery is under the stairs just by the toilets which
are on the right between the baggage carousel and the exit.
Journey times: The
journey time from Chambery to Sauze d'Oulx is between 2 hours and 2
hours 15 minutes. The Journey time to Sestriere, Claviere and
Montgenèvre is about 20 minutes longer. There are no planned stops on
our transfers but feel free to ask the driver if it is NECESSARY for an
unscheduled comfort stop.
General Transfer Information
Child Seats: Due to
insurance implications relating to child seats we do not provide these. Customers are free to bring there own and secure them to the vehicle to
their own satisfaction.
Seat belts: Where fitted
seat belts must be worn in Italy and France.
Food and drink: For
the comfort and safety of every one we do not allow consumption of food
and drink in any of the vehicles used by AirportHoppers, so please make
sure everyone in your group has consumed whatever they need before
boarding the vehicle.
"Shared
transfers"
from the airport, work to a schedule
which is based on the latest planned time that the transfer will leave
the airport. It is the customers responsibility to make sure that they
leave enough time for minor delays, disembarkation, immigration
procedures and baggage reclaim between the scheduled arrival time of
their flight and the and the departure time of the transfer. We
recommend that when booking your transfers you allow a minimum of 50
minutes.
"Non-scheduled
transfers" will meet the flight indicated in the booking confirmation 30
minutes after the flight arrival time indicated on your
booking confirmation document.
You
must
notify us of any changes at least 7 days before your arrival date. A transfer
booking is only valid for the flight and time indicated on the booking
confirmation and is not generally transferable. If we are able to change your
booking to a different time or date we will do so. An administration
charge of €25 will be payable.
Notes on delayed or diverted
flights:
Delays:
If your flight is delayed please send a text message
to +39 349 232 0816 (It is a good idea to save the above number into your mobile
telephone), stating the name on your booking, the scheduled arrival time of your
flight and the new projected arrival time. You should then text again confirming
the new arrival time as you are boarding the plane. We will do our best to be
accommodate these changes but charges may apply. Please see our terms and
conditions for details.
Scheduled Transfers:
If your arrival
flight
is delayed to such a degree that you
miss the transfer you have booked we will if possible put you onto the next
available scheduled transfer. If there are no seats available we will work with
you to find the best alternative but any additional costs incurred by
AirportHoppers will be passed on.
Non-Scheduled Transfers:
If your arrival
flight
is delayed by more than half an hour, where possible the transfer vehicle will
wait for you, however there will be a
charge for this. As the costs to AirportHoppers
will vary significantly depending on the individual circumstances,
we will apply a flat rate charge of €10.00
per half hour for each group of up to 4 people on the
same booking,
(i.e. €10 per half hour 1 - 4 people on the same booking €20 per half hour
5 - 8 people on the same booking and so on). If
the delay of your arrival involves a
diverted flight and our transfer vehicle/s needing to travel from
your original arrival airport to another airport, there will be an additional
charge of €1.00
per km for each group of 1 to 4 people
on the same booking
(i.e. €1.00 per km 1 - 4 people on the same booking, €2.00 per km 5 - 8
people on the same booking and so on).
Remember that in most
cases where a flight is diverted although you will only be travelling the extra
distance one way the vehicle/s and drivers will be travelling the extra distance
to get to the airport as well as with your party.
Unless you advise us otherwise we will assume that you wish the
transfer vehicle to wait for you where possible in the event of your flight
being delayed.
Notes
regarding all transfers:
(i)
AirportHoppers offer
airport transfers on the express understanding that they cannot be held liable
if a transfer is delayed or cancelled due to reasons beyond the Company's
control.
(ii)
If you or a member of your party are delayed at the arrival airport for any
reason such as but not restricted to immigration or customs procedures, we do
not guarantee to hold the transfer vehicle for you.
(iii)
AirportHoppers
will not accept liability for any additional accommodation and or transport
costs incurred by the customer as a result of delay or cancellation of your
transfer.
(vii)
You will be informed where and when you need to be for your departure transfer. It is
your responsibility to make sure that you
are
at the pre-arranged place at the
correct time. If for any reason whatsoever you are not ready to depart at the
arranged time our vehicles may leave without you.
(viii) Baggage weight on our transfers is limited to 20kg per item.

(ix) The maximum length of baggage that we can
guarantee to carry is 1.8m.
* We will do our best to accommodate overweight
and oversize baggage but for health and safety reasons
drivers have express instructions not to handle heavy baggage (over 20kg per
individual item). If an item of your baggage exceeds or appears to exceed
this weight you will be asked to load it on and off the transfer vehicle
yourself.
